The location of De Havelaar B&B lends itself admirably to exploring the surrounding countryside, whether it be on foot, by bike or car.

You will meet the past of Drenthe in the well-known "hunebedden" and the pre-historic burial mounds. Remnants of mediaeval car-tracks can still be seen in the forest near Anloo.

There are a lot of small villages worth visiting such as Zuidlaren, Gasteren, Anderen, Eext and many more.

If you don't bring your own bikes, it's possible to rent them at the local cycle-shop or we can rent them for you.
